Nell Blodgett
Biography

Nell Blodgett is a Graduated student from DePaul University in Chicago earning a BA in Art, Media & Design with a concentration in studio practice and a minor in Global Asian Studies. During her time at DePaul, she was a student worker and volunteer for the AmeriCorps Jumpstart program. There she enhanced her organization and time management skills as she worked within underesourced communities and schools, while also completing her own schoolwork and classes. This experience changed her life forever, giving her empathy and fulfillment by watching her class of preschoolers master the literacy skills they needed to enter kindergarten. Nell also worked at numerous restaurants and hotels mastering customer service, event planning and public speaking abilities. She has worked and been promoted to Merchant Development Manager at Groupon over the last 2 1/2 years, building professionalism and strategic sales skillsets within a book of 300+ small business owners. Nell is originally from Saint Paul, Minnesota where she found healing, mindfulness and therapy within film photography, painting, drawing and printmaking. She has worked alongside other artists and youth groups from different communities of Chicago to create murals that depict uplifting messages. She is a driven worker looking to expand and combine skill sets within each medium she works with. Her biggest goal for the future is to learn more patience within her thought processes of career and personal growth. She continuously takes risks and goes outside her comfort zone to find meaning in things unintended or unplanned. She is excited to break boundaries in the future and continue to experiment and find new avenues for communication within her skillsets.
